Ominous is proud to announce this years tape series:

This year Ominous is revisited by Tobias Lunds Totenpaahle, Tempole! and just a couple of weeks after releasing their debut, Soviet Jazz. New this year is the elegant and sexy Telephone Melts who has some serious Ominous pop(/which wave?) that you need to hear.
The release party will be held at Galleri Detroit in Stockholm on the 30th of July. Ominous will unveil this magnificent series, sell all other massive items available, Soviet Jazz and Totenpaahle will perform live and the entrance is free!

For you who are wondering about the Munnen tape, I might have some disappointing news. The tape will not be released until their show at the end of August, so hang in there. The tape will be worth the wait once you got it in your hands!

Last night, Ominous attended an art show and saw Munnen perform a really cocky and chaotic show. Ominous is really excited about releasing this and it seems as if the 25 tapes are more or less sold out already, before they're even released. The Munnen tape will be released on the 1st of July, on their show at Trädgården, so be there or miss out on this release!

Soviet Jazz - About Frank Fatelle will be released on the 2nd of July, on the Ny Musik För Hållbar Utveckling festival.

Soviet Jazz posters should be arriving this week, the tape dubbing has started and they are working on the cover and labels. So hopefully this will be available within two weeks!

Munnen has finished the recording and are currently working on covers/labels as well, so as Soviet Jazz, their release will be available withing two weeks or so as well.

Tape 2 of the bankrupt tape series, Fresh Weather Bomb Attack / 02:58, is now sold out. And I've only got one or two copies left of the other tapes. So if you're thinking about ordering a copy of a tape or all of the remaining, you better do it sooner rather than later!

Also, the Floe Fountain 3''CDr's are currently unavailable due to artistic excentricities, none of them plays flawless due to paint stains. But this problem will be taken care of asap and they'll be available again in a week or two.

New in the distro is FESTER.
Fester was a black/death metal band back in the days in Norway. This compilation contains their '91 demo and their '92 promo, and 3 live tracks. Reminds a lot of Darkthrone's Soulside Journey, old school as fuck in other words. Get nostalgic with this!

After listening to Rat Healer, you feel the need to wash your self. The dirt creeps into every crack. Earlier it was easy to imagine a Brainbombs that suddenly realized old, 90's norwegian Black Metal was the new shit, but tried to keep the filthy punk/rock vibe. But the new songs have left the more basic punk/rock filth and added more doomy/post-hardcoreish stuff into the fucked up mess that is Rat Healer. Screaming banshee Roardog's distorted vocals puts another layer of sludge on top of that cake!

Soviet Jazz - About Frank Fatelle C60 Tape + A3 poster (50x)
About Frank Fatelle is an opera by Stockholms finest (weirdest) jazz act, it's a haunting story of a man who really showed them, all of them, goddamnit.
The tape comes delivered with an A3-sized poster to hang on your bedroom wall.

The Gay Pride Tape Series
So far Ominous has confirmed participation from Soviet Jazz and Totenpaahle, still awaiting word from Fresh Weather Bomb attack and Tempole! New for this year is Telephone Melts (lo-fi elevator music/weirdness) and possibly Vaginia Wolf and the Swamp Rat Love Fest (Unwanted, unloved No Wave-bastard), but that depends a little on the word from FWBA and Tempole! I may have to shift around amongst the groups. So far it seems as if it'll be 3 C40 split tapes and each tape will be limited to 33 copies.

If Vaginia does not have the chance of making the series, she will most certainly appear later in the autumn on Ominous Recordings.

My cassette deck died last week, and I have been unable to record all the Floe Fountain tapes. I had hoped that all the tapes recorded before it died was working fine, but it seems as if some of them are missing a side. Also some of the CD's have paint on the playable side of them, so they might not be working fine either. If you have a tape or a CD that's not working correctly, contact me and I'll sort it out!

Floe Fountains Infinipolar will delayed one week and the new releasedate is 20th of February. The releaseparty will be held together with Klubb Static at Lava / Kulturhuset. On stage Pistol Disco and Chicken El Diablo will perform and the DJ will play some selected songs from the Floe Fountain release. Ominous will be in the trenches offering you this magnificent release, together with previous releases and selected items from the distro!

Also, Ominous has gotten a hold of two copies of Blank Verse, Kalle Fagerbergs (Floe Fountain) solo project. A haunting piece of noise that'll seriously affect you.

The Floe Fountain tape will be delayed because of some re-takes that needs to be done, which was discovered during mixing. So we're probably looking at a January release instead of the best christmas present ever. Also, the quantity has changed to 50 units instead of the said 25. There will be 25 pink tapes and 25 red tapes, sold with 3'' CDr's (that will be one track short, so you true underground connaisseurs will get the full frontal and you digital dicks will be short of one track).

Last night was a truly amazing show! We're down to the two final copies of the Fresh Weather Bomb Attack / 02:58 tape, So if you want it, get it now before it's gone forever and ever and everever!

Floe Fountain and Ominous got in an agreement that a tape will be released later this year. 6 new Floe Fountain songs will be released on 25 pink tapes with hand-drawn covers. Debut of the new synth player Kalle as well! Ominous got the chance to hear some of the new songs live, and you don't want to miss out on this amazing release! Keep your eyes open, because this could be unleashed any time!

Ominous is also discussing a possible tape release with an american band, which will be announced shortly if all goes well!

This is the new website. It's temporary and ugly, I know. But it gets the job done for the moment. I've tried to check all the links and reviews, but don't know if I succeeded in getting them checked and redone, so there may be some flaws so far. But I will try and get this sorted out as soon as possible.

Ominous will try and kickstart the broken heart back to life this year. I know I've promised you a couple of tapes and they are coming. But as usual when it comes to Ominous, we are talking about delays. I still haven't gotten all the info/music I need for releasing the insanity, but I'm working on it.

Also, I've contacted Strange Famous Records and will start selling some of their stuff. We are talking about fucking excellent hiphop with a head instead of a cock. Also planning on bringing some other drone-ish stuff back home. This means that I'll try and get my hands on some stuff that you might want to buy instead of the stuff I wanna release. So the distro section is what will run mostly for the moment.

The swedish people can look forward to a new law which gives the defense department the right to read our e-mails, listen to our phone messages and read our textmessages. Is it just a matter of time before the goverment has the legal right to open our mail as well? Join Ominous in the revolution! Since it's a new year, I'm cutting my prices a little bit... again.

The emotionally bankrupt series will hopefully be realized in the beginning of 2009, I'm gathering material from all the artist and having the covers designed. So far I've succeeded in filling two tapes and looking forward to finding four new artists that will participate in this mindblowing tape series.

Ominous is gathering strength for what seems to be the very last blow at the world. If things go as yours truly hopes a small tape series will be released in December/January.

Ominous Recordings are proud to present a small series of split-tapes with pure artists. Stretching from chaoslike, insane doom to purest of noise, via electro, ambient and experimental, avantgarde music. Ominous Present ”The Emotionally Bankrupt Series”. 4 split-tapes, 8 artists, each tape is limited to 15 copies, forever and ever, in the entire world. The covers are pro-printed, black on white, handnumbered by your meister himself with only the artists logo as individual design. This series will be a piece of musical history so you don’t want to miss out on this.

A brief introduction of the artists:

Tape 1: Soviet Jazz / 02:58
Soviet Jazz combine doomish heaviness with suburban angst and makes one of the most relentless pieces of musical conspiracy up to date, a 4-track beast that will blister your thoughts on how music should be created or how it should sound.

The sad story of a band that had the capacity of destroying musical boundaries with their twisted, decayed version it. A death, a struggle to keep going, but in the end - a hospice for one of the members. These are the only tracks that was completed, a prologue/intro and two songs. One guitarist, one noise conspirateur and a vocalist, who in the track”Insekter” is screaming from inside a locked metal box, kicking and pounding on the walls. The authentity is horrifying. Since the entire lyrics are in Swedish, I’ll tell you what it’s about. The tracks were supposed to be on a complete fullength album, a concept album about mental patients. It starts with a prologue that describes the views inside of a rotten mental institution, where patients are nothing more than animals locked in cages, the routines and the feelings surrounding this existence. The second track is called ”I Spinnarfjärilens Hus” and describes a necrophiles affection for his lovers. Third, and last is the track ”Insekter”, this track is regarding a patient who sees insects everywhere, around him, on him, inside him, they’re consuming him from inside out. These tracks are two or three years old now, but is still haunting enough to be released.

Tape 2: Bionic Ghost Kids / Conversations About The Light
Bionic Ghost Kids is an electro/screamo/thrash-insanity from Berlin. About to release their debut album they've graced Ominous with some tracks for a tape. This is aggressive but still catchy, harsh and provoking. A band of masked avengers destroying the stages around Germany for the moment. Check this out or be very sorry.

Conversations About The Light is an act that you should know about if you have been a good customer to this label. About a year ago, unfortunately, CATL decided to commit suicide, so no more releases, until this day. What Ominous is offering you here is the very first CATL-demo. Completely unreleased, like some of the material on "A Retrospective", together with the very last and final tracks that CATL ever recorded. Another must have? YES!

Some more or less interesting news for you all. Another The Balustrade Ensemble reviews has been added, they came up with 10/10 at MyLastChapter.net, the same zine also found it in their hearts to pull off an interview with your favourite label manager, so you've got some reading to do!
Also, a brand new item in the distribution catalogue, an item you don't want to live without!

Added another review of The Balustrade Ensemble, but in spanish this time, unfortunately I have no translation for it yet. Hopefully I will try and get one. The up-side of it is that the CD recieved 8/10.

Added paypal buttons on the Balustrade Ensemble release, it doesn't look nice, but it is easier for all you customers out there. I am still hoping that a new webiste will come. Then, the mailorder site will hopefully look a bit more attractive, but for now, this have to do.

A new year, a beautiful release out. What could be better?
The Balustrade Ensemble have made it to 10 "Best of the year 2007" lists that we know of. Which is fantastic, and it is a great album. Just to clear things up, the Ominous release of the album contains two tracks that are mixed differently than on the US release, and one track have been changed. So this release differs a lot, even on the artwork.
Hopefully some reviews will start to pour in, so you can hear what the media has to say about this. So far we have one, in french, that is up know. Also an english translation made by the french reviewer and slightly corrected by me. Check it out!
