The Balustrade Ensemble is probably the most emotional that has been layed before Ominous so far. The feelings I get is almost everyone I have mentioned is important for this label. This is gloomy, atmospheric, hurtful, sad, I get feelings of isolation and desorientation. The music seems almost fragile. I am sure that this will appeal to fans of Sigur Rós, but this is without vocals.

It started with a demo wrapped in bloodstained bandages. The bleeder was no-one else but Nattramn from the worshipped act Silencer. The demo contained the worst case of mental decay Ominous Recordings had ever heard. Ambiental soundscapes, combined with harsh noise, and Nattramns uneasy voice. Chanting his painful lyrics with a voice that is submissive, but at the same time demanding. A voice filled with fear, but at the same time controlled. As the cooperation evolved Ominous Recordings got a peek into one of Swedens darkest souls. This release layout and design is as it was visioned by Nattramn himself, every picture is personally picked out by the mind behind the madness you are about to hear. It was a real honor to have released this upon mankind, and I am greatful to Nattramn for giving Ominous Recordings this opportunity.

Adon, the man behind this project, has developed what he refers to as "Dekadence Music", a sort of "post-genre"-music. Which moves in the trails of Dark Ambient, Classical Music and some Industrial. But the best part of the whole track (it's just one long 43 minute track) is where the carnival music begins, and Adon sounds like a possessed merchant trying to sell off his soul. You should really get this CD, it is one of the best ones I have on distribution.

The second fullenghth album from this finnish group. COO plays a weird mixture between post-punk and Black Metal. With haunting, uneasy, psychotic vocals. Imagine if Joy Division had started involving darkthrone-ish grim, primitive rhythm guitars to their riffs. This is really primitive, insane and disturbing.

An insanely dark ambient piece of gloomy music. The first feelings running through my head in the first act is David Lynch, Eraserhead and total fucking darkness. Vhaete proceeds, fingering all the angstridden feelings in the spectrum of misery and serves a well made dose of inner pain.
This is highly recommended, not only for the music, but for the utter perfection this disc is delivered in. A beautiful, once in a lifetime packaging.
