02:58
02:58 is the sad story of a band that had the capacity of destroying musical boundaries with their twisted, decayed version it.
The only tracks that were completed, a prologue/intro and two songs was released on The Bankrupt Tape Series 2009, on a split tape with Fresh Weather Bomb Attack. One guitarist, one noise conspirateur and a vocalist, who in the track”Insekter” is screaming from inside a locked metal box, kicking and pounding on the walls. The authentity is horrifying. The tracks were supposed to be on a complete fullength album, a concept album about a mental institution and its patients.
Release: The Bankrupt Tape Series - split with Fresh Weather Bomb Attack (OR010)

Avgrunden
An amazing mixture of Earth-drone, Bohren & The Club Gore-vibing minimalism, desolate noisescapes, Black Sabbath-basslines and Neil Youngs soundtrack to Dead Man.
Release: Den Fördömda Jorden Tape (OR023)
Coming: Det Sjunde Inseglet Tape

Bad Biology
American Noiserock/punk band that salutes equal parts Pissed Jeans and a harsher Flipper. Nihilistic, punkish and noisey enough.
Release: Before The Germ Tape (OR020)

Balustrade Ensemble, The
Beautiful, filmic, fragile and compelling. Grant Miller has created something extrordinary with guitarloops, mellotrons, viola, pedal steele and fair female choirs.
Release: Capsules CD (OR008)

Bionic Ghost Kids
German trash-electro/screamo duo from Berlin.
Release: The Bankrupt Tape Series - split with Totenpaahle (OR009)

Charons Nymfer
Charons Nymfer is Dick Lundberg and Tomas Nilsson (Lucidor) backed by noise artists Marco (Vanvett/Vedergaellning). Charons Nymfer interprets Carl-Michael Bellman in the most modern way so far. Harsh noise, folkrock, metal, original material composed the same way as old folk music from the 1700th. Angstridden and interesting to say the least.
Releases: Se Döden På Dig Väntar CD & Ltd Edition CD (OR004)

Chicagojazzen
I don't even know how to describe the music or the artist. Chicagojazzen, Erik Karlsson, has released two tapes on Native Parts Records, two tapes that cover a whole spectrum of music, but with an edge of its own and always sounding like Chicagojazzen.
Erik released a vinyl on Irrlicht as well, a vinyl that I love, but have no way of describing to anyone with any other words than "weird, but really, really god!".
Releases: Övik / Jörn Tape (OR027)

Conversations About The Light
Pure ambiental dronescapes and a very gloomy atmosphere, combined with harsh noise, and painfully sharp cluster. This is uneasy easy listening. Amazing, cold, haunting, noise from America. Real craftmanship.
Releases:
A Retrospective CDr (OR006)
The Bankrupt Tape Series - split with Tempole! (OR012)

Diagnose: Lebensgefahr
It started with a demo wrapped in bloodstained bandages. The bleeder was no-one else than Nattramn from the worshipped BM-act Silencer. The demo contained the worst case of mental decay Ominous Recordings had ever heard. Ambiental soundscapes, combined with harsh noise, and Nattramns uneasy voice. Chanting his painful lyrics with a voice that is submissive, but at the same time demanding. A voice filled with fear, but at the same time controlled. As the cooperation evolved Ominous Recordings got a peek into one of Swedens darkest souls.
Releases: Transformalin CDr (OR005)

Feberdröm
Feberdröm is the soloproject of Markus Samnell, who also is half of the P.E. act Khmer Noir. Feberdröm owes as much to old school industrial scene as P.E. and noisey ambient. He succeeds in creating a harshness and unease, a malignant feeling just surrounds everything Ominous has heard so far.
Releases:
HQ Tape Series Vol. 1 (OR030-01)

Floe Fountain
Spastic, epileptic drum patterns that are everywhere, dissonant guitar chords and a flow that will leave you amazed and a low, popish voice sounding completely bored one second to be screaming from the top of his lungs in the next, which makes it all very interesting.
Releases:
The Banrupt Tape Series - split with Soviet Jazz (OR010)
Infinipolar 3'' CDr and Tape (OR013)

Fresh Weather Bomb Attack, The
The FWBA is fucked-up noise-rock. Repetetive, harsh, mean and for some reason incomparisonable to anything other I've heard.
No Wave / Noiserock or something. Pure gold!
Releases: The Bankrupt Tape Series - split with 02:58 (OR010)

Maskinfett
Harsh and nihilistic noise. In the vein of the raw Merzbow, Smegma and other uncompromising harsh noise acts.
Releases: Stinkhole Universe CDr (OR001)

Munnen
If you know the Stockholm indie/diy/noise scenen, you know who they are. All members have been parts of other groups previous to this. Some even released on this very label. Funky, post-punkish, no wave indie with lyrics in swedish. Munnen is consuming.
Releases: På Apoteket Tape (OR016)

Pleasure Trail
Pleasure Trail is the solo project of Dan Söderberg from Floe Fountain. Pleasure Trail is based mostly around synth, but still got room for Dans signature guitar work, voice and odd ideas. This is provocative and rather pop-ish at the same time, dirty and clean, with a lot of hints of different kinds of music.
Releases:
Quapolar Boy Tape (OR019)
Intellectuami Tape (OR028)

Rat Healer
After listening to Rat Healer, you feel the need to wash your self. The dirt creeps into every crack. Brainbombs meets punk/rock with doomy posthardcore and 90's Black Metal.
Screaming banshee Roardog's distorted vocals puts another layer of sludge on top of that cake!
Releases: Self titled 3'' CDr (OR014)

Sekt
An experimental ambient journey into darkness, frustration and control. Sekt was a side project of Avskyvärd, which is one half of Soviet Jazz.
Releases: Learn Tape - split with Terror Regime (OR003)

Soviet Jazz
A duo of noise-conspirateurs that adds a bit of jazz to the whole circus and mananges to make some of the most interesting music available today. Cut/copy/dub/overdub/trumpet/sampler/loops/bass and a bow on a broken cymbal.
Releases:
The Bankrupt Tape Series - split with Floe Fountain (OR011)
About Frank Fatelle Tape (OR015)
The Gay Pride Tape Series - split with Telephone Melts (OR017)
Art Gallery Anti Klimax (OR025)

Stillheten
Stillheten is acoustic folk/ambient, beautiful melodies share time with shy walls of effects. It's quiet, even though it's not and creates an atmosphere of woods, winds and darkening skies.
Releases: The Right And God Made Sun Did Rise Tape (OR024)

Strömvall Hammarstedt, Johan
Herr S-H started Ominous Recordings in 2005, is half of Vaginia Wolf, was Terror Regime, was in Soviet Jazz for one live show back in 2007, has been writing "poetry", lyrics, or whatever to call it for 10 years. Had a slim volume published by Tobias Lunds label Flacon last year.

Suicidal Seduction
Hateful, yet groovy and melodic Death Metal in the vein of Vomitory and Vader, so you understand that this isn't gore death, but pure death.
Releases: Guilty On All Counts MCDr (OR002)

Telephone Melts
What is there to say about Telephone Melts? What isn't there to say is the next question. A bit of funky no wave, some lounge-feeling here and there, a touch of melancholic pop, an ominous feeling of insecurity, epic minimalism?
Releases: The Gay Pride Tape Series - Split with Soviet Jazz (OR017)

Tempole!
Duo that was Lightning Bolt/Deerhoof inspired, hard rocking garage with guitar pedal madness, and drums. Turned into a laid back folk/kraut unit and then was laid on ice.
Releases:
The Bankrupt Tape Series - split with Conversations About The Light (OR012)
The Gay Pride Tape Series - split with Totenpaahle (OR018)

Terror Regime
A first attempt from herr S-H at creating noise, harsh noise, back in 2005. Inspired mostly by Merzbow, Whitehouse, MZ.412 and Folkstorm.
Releases: Ominous Drone Tape - split with Sekt (OR003)

Totenpaahle
Tobias Lund, together with Soviet Jazz, is one of the oldest and most notorious Ominous-acts. Totenpaahle is the experimental soloproject that differs from his other groups.

The Bankrupt Tape Series - split with Bionic Ghost Kids (OR009)
The Gay Pride Tape Series - split with Tempole! (OR018)
Golem Tape (OR022)
Art Gallery Anti Klimax Tape (OR025)
Mirrors, Leave Me Behind Tape (OR029)

Vaginia Wolf
A noise/experimental/improv project by your label manager himself and PKT (Soll & Malebreastcancerschock).
Releases: Art Gallery Anti Klimax (OR025)

Zeit
Zeit moves somewhere between The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and noisey shoegaze. They've got the pop feel and the noise feel. They manage to create a very nice mixture between the harsh and the fragile.
Releases: Self titled Tape and CDr (OR021)
